As a family we are very excited, as we look forward to the 2021 season. We started the farmers’ market as part of our plan to demonstrate to people where their food comes from. Our Log Farm is not only a fun place to visit but an actual operating farm. Over the past couple of years our market has grown steadily and last year was especially encouraging as more and more people recognized how important and rewarding it is to support and buy local. We are thrill that we will have 25 to 30 of the best vendors every week this year. Mostly all last years vendors are back along with lots of new ones. Our vendor page will continue to be updated over the next couple of weeks so check back to see who is coming. Looking forward to seeing you this season. We will of course be opening with all the necessary COVID-19 protocols in place.
In 2020 we saw so many people embrace their community and come together to support the small local businesses that make up the Barrhaven Farmers’ Market. Who would have thought that people would patiently stand in line and wait for an opportunity to buy local but people did and in large numbers like never before. We are very humbled that our market became a place that customers could come and support local and feel safe in doing so.
As we start to gear up for the 2021 season our goal is to bring together more local vendors and continue to offer a safe, comfortable environment for shoppers. If you or someone you know are a local grower, baker or maker and are interested in becoming a vendor please check out our Contact page for more info. Can not wait to see you all in May!
It’s been a good start to the new year already. Received the news today that our Farmers’ Market has been nominated for The Ottawa Awards. 2020 was definitely challenging but the support we saw from the people of Ottawa was amazing. To our vendors this would be a huge recognition to all their hard work they have put in over the years to make our market what it was this year. The awards are only voted on by the public so if you feel like saying thanks to our vendors the link below takes you to the voting page and you can vote once a day until January 30th.
We would sincerely like to thank all our guests and our vendors who participated in our two Christmas markets this year. It was a huge success, lots of traffic and lots of great people supporting locals. We also would like to thank everybody for their patience while visiting the farmers market, the traffic we received was more than expected and sometimes there was a wait.
While our Christmas markets may be over for the season The Log Farm is open throughout December and we have fresh cut balsam fir Christmas trees and our gift shop is stocked with lots of great gift ideas many of which are from the vendors that were at our market. If you’d like to stop by you can check out the hours here 👉www.thelogfarm.com
Wishing you the best of the Holiday season and we can’t wait to see you all again in May with the kick off of our farmers market 2021.
